Classes available:

Kids Aerial Silks: This class is open-level for students ages 9-15. The class focuses on building strength, flexibility and awareness in the air while exploring and creating new vocabulary. Students will practice moving together as well as developing their own style of movement. No experience necessary.

*if you have a child younger than 9 that would like to participate in aerial silks they must set up a private lesson with the instructor to determine eligibility for the class.

Adult Aerial Silks Level 1: This class teaches the basics of aerial silks technique and as an expressive dance form. We explore climbing, leg locks, and a variety of silks vocabulary. Classes include conditioning that targets muscles needed for lifting and sustaining the body while in the air. Classes are open to people who want to try aerial silks for the first time and those wanting to expand on basic techniques.

Adult Aerial Silks Level 2: This class is for students with previous aerial experience or who have completed level 1. Classes expand upon silks vocabulary, continuing to build strength, stamina, and knowledge of aerial silks technique. Level 2 integrates more complex material such as inversions, types of fabric wraps, transitions, and flexibility training. You must have instructor approval to sign up for this class.

Adult All Level Aerial Silks (Sundays Only): This class is open to complete beginners all the way to the intermediate aerialist. For beginners, read more about what will be taught, which is found under the “Adult Aerial Silks Level 1” section.”

Open Gym (Adults Only 16+): This is not a class but an open training time for current students to practice skills they have already learned. The instructor will be there to help with anything the student needs, but no new skills will be taught. This class can also be used as a makeup for the above classes you are enrolled in. This class is drop in only and you must pay before class begins.

For all students: If it is your first time taking an aerial silks class at Arabesque, please arrive 15 minutes before class starts to get checked in and sign a waiver. Aerial Silks Rules

1.   Do NOT get down the aerial fabric unless you are an instructor at Arabesque dance studio and have an understanding of how to use the aerial fabric.

2.   Do NOT attempt a trick that is not taught by the instructor unless you have received prior approval.

3.   ALWAYS practice with mats underneath the fabric.

4.   Class attire is tight-fitting athletic clothing. Leggings and tops that cover underarms are recommended. Leotards and unitards are also good options that protect the waist.

5.   Jewelry of any kind is NOT allowed. When you come into class please take off any jewelry that will snag or rip aerial fabric, this includes diamonds or rings with sharp edges, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, pants with obtrusive zippers and buttons, diamond-encrusted sports bras, etc.

6. If you are more than 15 minutes late to class, you will be turned away. We do not give refunds but you can make up this class in open gym. We want to give our students enough time to warm the body up to avoid injury.

7.   In a shared training space, it is important that all students practice good hygiene. Additionally, we request that everyone avoid heavy fragrances and lotions as they can irritate other students and staff and can make the equipment difficult to use.

8.   Photos and videos are allowed and encouraged! If you do not want to be recorded please let the instructor know prior to class beginning.

9.   Stay warm and hydrated throughout class! Aerial dance is a difficult workout that takes lots of energy and strength.
